Their religius beliefs are no more proven or important than any other. Why do Christians think it is their right to point fingers at other religions and proclaim that they are the bad guys?

You said it in your question... It makes them feel special...

It is the same reason that people join gangs, cults, clubs, clicks, or any other reason that people gather...

It gives meaning to their pointless and self centered lives and allows them to get out of bed in the morning because they thing that their god conciders them a special little snow flake.

If they actually sat down and thought about how little they have actually accomplished in their lives, the people they have hurt, the mistakes they have made, the opportunities lost all combined with the knowledge that they have no one to fault but themselves then they might just blow their brains out.

Religion is a crutch for small minded people to be able to get out of bed in the morning and not go insane.

They take the inhabitions implied by their religion and use it as the REASON that they don't go out and do more with their lives.

It negates any form of responsibility for anything other then the guidlines given to them by their leaders.

It is really sad...

I have taken the knowledge that I only have this one chance to do what I want to do and use it as a POSITIVE FORCE to encourage me to be a good person and to not let fear stand in the way of anything I do.

Unfortunately this goes against the grain of the average brainwashed bible thumper.

well, this is more than one question - so i'll start with the first and try to answer the second. Christians believe they are so special because they have chosen to live their lives based on the most "special" person who has ever walked this earth. because their beliefs are spiritually based, their beliefs are proven everyday - with every miracle encountered all over the world.
about the second question. all people point fingers at those who are not like them - - not just Christians. jewish, amish, muslim, academians, physically fit, caucasians, african - everyone. it's not just Christians and definitely not all Christians that point fingers at others, just like it's not all physically fit people who point fingers at the physically inept. it's quite individual. i hope this sheds some light on your question.
may God richly bless you!!!

Because if other guy is right, then that makes them wrong and there's nothing more a Christian hates than to be wrong. To be honest though, other than some eastern religions, most religions "point fingers" at the others, not just Christians.

because Jesus taught us to love one another. We are all equal in God's eye and wants us to bring as many to him as possible. He never taught us to hate or force his teachings upon others by the sword. He taught us to reject pride because a humble obedient slave is greater in the kingdom of heaven than the richest master. Those that truly embrace his teachings do not point fingers but rather try to help those that have been lead astray by false doctrine. Beware, there are those that claim to be Christian but are not, perhaps it is in those that you see the traits you describe.
In response to Vince: The papacy used force during the inquisition, they are catholic not christian and we should do everything we can to help them grow and turn away from their mis-guided path and move toward "the way".

Religion in general is a bad idea.

God, Heaven & Hell are all simple and great concepts but building a rigid idealogy on these concepts was always a big mistake and has caused a lot of trouble in the world.

Having faith is not a bad thing but forcing it down everyone else's throats and declaring that yours is the 'right religion' is just ignorant and rude.

becaues the bible tells them so, and it makes them feel good about themselves. They then get opressed and can't escape it because the bible says they can't. It's like getting arreseted without a 'get out of jail free' card. It's a lifelong subscription. They therefore want everyone to join. of course they're not all like that but they mostly only want to try to enlighten people's lives. It's like when you're 21 and your mum offers to help tie your shoe laces. It's a nice but pointless gesture!!xx

They feel special because they are on speaking terms with the lord and master of the universe.

Me, I don't even know the name of the Lord Mayor.

Because many large Christian nations also tend to be the most powerful countries in the world. USA, Germany, the UK etc. Coincidence? I think not.
