If Bruce Lee was beaten so badly in any martial art he would of recognised it as practical and hence adopt it into his own martial art. Yes he was submitted. But he never used much grappling, probably because he felt he didnt need it.

Kali/Escrima are derivatives of silat. Silat being a south east asian version of martial arts. Yes he was interested in Kali/Escrima because it has many practicl aspects to it. As a result people suggested he was beaten by a practitioner of those arts. I dont agree or disagree he was/ was not beaten at all.

In fact after he took on the royal rumble of people and won against everyone. He was interviewed by the reporter who asked a seemingly invincible Bruce Lee "who do you think can beat you" and Bruce answered "Muhamad Ali"

The man is an awesome martial artist. If I can be a fraction of what he is - I'll be very happy. But he was beatable.

Never heard of Bruce Lee being beaten by a silat practitioner. Bruce Lee was interested in a lot of practical and effective martial arts during his life time. Eventually he put and configured them together to form an art known as Jeet Kune Do.
I'm not sure about Gene Lebell, but he was a good friend of Bruce Lee and he did teach him about grappling and wrestling.

Is your question directed to kids?

There is no such "true" story to confirm this at all.

The story you heard was wrong.

Know your facts and ask the people who trained with.

Hint : Dan Insantos In Los Angels Calif.

Yeah... Judo Gene made a ragdoll of Bruce.

He had to tap out. LOL!!!

What I like the most about it is that Judo Gene is not known as the person who made bruce tap out.

He is known for his incredible skills in 'classical traditional' martial arts. You know... the stuff that bruce said was useless!!! LOL!!!
