Hey pop finally asked a question huh? Well don’t give me best answer that wouldn’t be fair ya know? Lol

I know this is going to tick off a bunch of Brits, but here goes.

They have their head up their ****! They outlawed guns, large knives and now its going to be swards. When will they stop? Will they ban people? Because it’s people that kill. A human can find something to kill with. And with the HUGE European black market, you can buy what ever your little criminal heart desires.

They can’t grasp that only law abiding people follow laws. Criminals don’t give a sh----it about laws.
So all they are doing is removing weapons from law abiding people. Thus putting them in the place where they have to wait for the law to show up.
Personally I don’t want to watch my family get killed while I await the arrival of the coppers.

Thank my lucky stars I am in the good ol’ USA! Bad guy tries to kill my family he will have a .44 magnum canoe head!

Gosh ... aren't those swords hard to conceal? Really not the same as a gun, a gun you can hide more easily.

I think Europeans ARE safer with their gun laws. But that doesn't mean it will work here in the US. It's different here, gun lovers would never give up all their guns. And criminals will always have guns here ... there are too many guns around for our country to outlaw them. Crime would go up because the law abiding would be forced to give up their weapons, and then only the criminals would have them.

I agree with everyone above, except Monica, as follows:

The violent crime rate in Britain has SKYROCKETED now that the criminals (who still have guns and can get them easily) are facing a disarmed public and often under-armed police force. Even if a criminal doesn't have a gun, he knows his victim won't, so crime is up across the board in England.

This follows suit in many other countries who have systematically disarmed their law-abiding populace. On the other hand, nations like Switzerland, where practically every home with a male of military service age has an assault rifle in it, and many others have hunting rifles in them, is quite safe, has a lower crime rate, and doesn't have people shooting each other in the streets.

England has become a horrible experiment which proves true the statement, "When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns," 100%

What's next, banning knives in restaurants? Letter Openers? Perhaps cricket bats and point-ed sticks? (Montny Python joke there, sorry!)

I remember my coworker telling me that a European citizen was interviewed and was asked the question if the U.S. should disarm it's citizens and the person responded, "Don't let it happen to you, look what happened to us."
The quote is not verbatim, but I'm sure you get the gist.

Keeping the sheep unarmed to make them easy prey seems to be one of the greatest moments of triumph for every oppressor.
