In Spain we say "mi madre está embarazada", but in South American they say "mi mamá está embarazada".
"madre" in South America, depending on the context could be even a bit offensive.
Use mamá just in case.

Mi mamá está embarazada= My mother is pregnant.
Don't use "madre" here. That word is associated
with too many rude phrases!
BTW: In Mexico you might even hear
Mi jefa está embarazada.

It is: Mi madre esta embarazada, and NOT: mi madre es una puta...
