I have a 91 Bronco 302 efi that has been having a problem with the egr valve, Ive did test on the valve, it opens and closes, holds a vacuum, and the sensor it reading right, just wondering if the vacuum tree, (on upper intake manifold) which supplies vacuum for the whole truck, is suppose to have a built in check valve. The only thing I have not check is the egr controll solenoid,, but its only about 4 years old. If the tree is suppose to have a check valve built into it, its not working.

Shouldn't have a check valve. Remove, clean and reinstall. I've seen those trucks with a lot of carbon buildup in the intake.
