What a great question! Spiritual growth is a measure of how well you are doing in getting to know God intimately. How mature you are in your spiritual walk. Also it is a measure of how fruitful you are in your walk with God, how you respond during times of testing and how fruitful your works are to the Kingdom. Your growth can be slow going or quickly developing and is subject to change speeds from time to time. A person who spends much time with God will grow more mature in their faith then someone who puts something else before Him.

True spiritual growth as a Christian comes from SO much more then Bible knowledge- it comes when we decide to become more like Jesus- and know Him personally and follow Him.

I tend to think that anything that leads me to view myself, other people, and the world in a more peaceful light is helping me grow spiritually. Also, anything that challenges me to act on the good intentions that I have, rather than just enjoying the warm, fuzzy feeling of loving mankind and wishing them well.

The ultimate goal is to have your life so transformed that you demonstrate the likeness of the Lord Jesus. Spiritual growth is the progression that one takes to get to that point from the starting of the faith in that person's life.
Hope that helps.

Hebrews 6:1 -- Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us GO ON TO PERFECTION, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
In other words, after we are practiced in obeying God, we need to develope pure religion (James 1:27) and good works (Matthew 5:16, Ephesians 2:10, Hebrews 10:24).
2 Peter 1:5-8 -- But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 5:22-23 -- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
James 1:27 -- Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Matthew 5:16 -- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Ephesians 2:10 -- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Hebrews 10:24 -- And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

To me, it is learning more about God and about myself.
It is not all book knowledge. IBook knowledge is just a litte part of it. It is spiritual knowledge. You grow in compassion and develop deeper empathy. You become more able to forgive. You are calm and at peace.
Cool question!

Something completely different, in my opinion. Spiritual growth is growing closer to Christ in your relationship with Him. It is getting to know when He is speaking, learning to hear His voice and acting according to His Word. (For those of different beliefs, I don't know what it would be to them, so I will let them speak for themselves.)

It is knowledge but its understanding too. I was told I need more of that, which I do. It's a maturity level too.
