Science.
Every religion I have examined seems to be fundamentally the same as all the others. People are expected to devote their lives to a cause determined by others without being given any good reason. Those who choose to do so are intentionally misled and manipulated so they will continue to support the cause.
Science is a set of principles rather than an organization, so anyone can take from science what they want. People are also free to examine the principles of science themselves and accept them as logical or modify and replace them with ones that are more suited. In this way, science is available to everyone as a means of answering questions through logical thought and experimentation.
Religion is only open to people who are willing to forego rational thought, so it's really not even an option for me. I cherish rational thought much too much to ever give it up.

Both as they are founded on the same basic premise ie exploration of the unknown,be it human mind or the cosmos(universe). The rift or conflict has been created by people who don't have any serious knowledge of either and the rest of us just blindly follow it.It's often said that a religion is more of a matter of faith than logic or rationality and science is based on facts, truth and proofs.True but only up to a point and beyond a point, even science has to assume(or have a kind of faith) in some criteria and then proceed further in it's exploration. The religion fills the spiritual void humans feel after their materialistic needs are met with and a certain level of their intellectual development is achieved. We can understand it better if we set aside religious ritualism aside and only consider the basic premise of any religion.I think,it should suffice for the scope of your question.

Science.
The idea that there is an old man in the sky watching and logging everything we do so he can decide where to put us when we die - is - A FAIRY TALE.
Furthermore, there have been a million different gods and religeions since the dawn of man.
Who can be so arrogant to say THEIR god is the RIGHT god?
And who can be so arrogant to say that if you dont belive in the "right" god, you are automatically doomed to hell.
Face it - religion was used by man to explain the unexplainable in the days before science. And the idea of god today is simply a way to keep us all in line - because as you know - we are all being watched by the old man in the sky.
Who belives this stuff anymore!?!?!?!

Science is every changing, but the God who created the very universes never changes and never fails.
Religion is man's attempt to reach God, but God reached down to lowly man - without religion or science.
I choose God, the Alpha and the Omega.

I don't have to choose, but if I did it would be religion.
Why? Science tells you how, but not why. Science gives you facts but religion gives you moral standards. Science doesn't help to make you a good person. Religion does.
And that's why :)
love.
