Good question: But......
We are already like God made in His image and likeness.
Like satan tempted Adam and Eve to be like God Hmmm............
All knowing and all powerful. Well we like to think we are don't we?
So depending on where we might stand with this question to the way that we might answer. Yes a good question well thought of.
So in answer to this question I would have to say yes but also No depending on where I thought I might be on a level of a god status.

Yes to your first question, no to your second. Jesus told his followers to "be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect." In other words, he was urging them/us to be loving, giving, merciful, all those good things. When Satan tempted Eve (he was off the scene by the time she passed the germ on to Adam), he held out the lure of being "like God" (didn't he actually say "gods"?) in the sense of being all-knowing and all-powerful.

No because Satan was tempting Adam and Eve to go against God's word. Jesus was trying to get people to follow God, and try to be more like him. This is not similar at all. Please try to come up with good, sensible questions.

This question is terrible. Jesus wants people to be like Him.. Love one another, regardless of differences and follow the path of righteousness. The serpent was tempting Eve by say "ye can be like gods knowing all good and evil"
Maybe if you read your bible a little better you wouldn't have to ask these questions.

Jesus was the pure example of God. We are to be as Christlike as possible. Satan wanted Adam and Eve to sin and and be destroyed.

Jesus never tried to make his followers "like god". We were made in God's image. He showed us how we should be, but he also told us that as human's we could never be perfect. Instead it was a lesson about us trying to be the best we can be and asking forgiveness when we falter.
What's the point in asking questions like these accusingly if you don't actually know the material behind them?

No he wasn't....he was trying to make his followers live the way God wants mankind to live...in peace...each helping the other...and looking more to God for betterment rather than the things mankind has created...which for the most part advocates greed...power...manipulation...and destruction...

Jesus was not trying to do that; he was a practising Jew and in the Jewish faith, it is very clear that G-d is G-d and man is man. We are not allowed to worship another human being, only G-d.

No, he was simply trying to get them to act like good humans. If you believe in Jesus and God, you certainly wouldn't expect the son of God to be so stupid as to think humans could act godly...
