I am making a Ham for Christmas Eve and would appreciate any tips or advice on keeping it tasty! I made it one year and it was sooooo dry! I have tried those bags and they seem ok, but anything would help!
Also--your favorite glaze recipe would be appreciated!!

Just remember that any ham you buy is already cooked. So when you bake it or glaze it, you are only really warming it throughout. So it takes much less time that you probably cooked your last (dry) one.
This is the best glaze ever! Trust me! :-)
** Best Glazed Ham **
1 (10 lb.) cured ham, bone-in (spiral sliced ok)
Glaze:
1½ c. brown sugar
3 tsp. spicy brown honey mustard
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
4 dashes Tabasco
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. fresh sliced ginger
hand full of cloves
Soak ham in water for 2-3 hours changing water every 45 minutes. Pat dry. Place ham cut side down in large roasting pan. Score ham in X’s w/ sharp knife, and place whole cloves in scored corners. Place all glaze ingredients into blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Gently and slowly pour glaze over ham, making sure it is totally glazed. Bake 4 hours at 300ºF.. Tent with foil if browning too quickly during last hour.

What type of ham are you buying that makes a huge difference? Some country hams are smoked and will be dry. Some hams hold more water then other hams and should be cooked differently. Some ham are already cooked, and just need a good warming in the oven. So start with what type of ham you plan on getting.

Get a spiral sliced honey glazed or maple glazed ham at the store ( most hams are pre-cooked so you are basically just reheating & adding your own touches to the flavor) I like to cover with a mixture of brown sugar, pineapple & coca-cola......Baste often & cook on a low heat setting with a cover or baking bag......Yummy & the sauce goes great with sweet potatos and/or carrots!

Hope this helps this is mine......I take strips of sugar can sticks and put them between a few sliced pieces on the ham,I buy already sliced hams I then take a cup of molasses and brush over ham,I cut up apple slices to lay in the bottom of the pan and pour a little molasses over them as well.I bake this precooked ham on 350 for 3 hours uncovered taking it out to brush more molasses over it 3 times during the heating process.My family and friends love this and I think you will as well.

I normally don't use glazes, however you could do a simple brown sugar glaze. Which is just mixing brown sugar with water and pouring over ham.
You should be covering your ham and have it at 325, it sounds like your over cooking it. Bast often.

I actually made my last ham in baked beans, I put the ham in the pan and poured a huge can of maple,brown sugar beans right on top and baked it because I had no glaze. It was awesome and I had a side dish to boot.

put ham in roasting pan and open a can or bottle of beer, pour over the ham, cover with foil, cook on 325, bast often best ham ever!

Ad coke to it, fix any way you like just put about 1/2 to a full can of coke in the bottom of pan. My GD likes orange crush, and I've heard of people using Dr. Pepper. it's something about the soda that helps keep it moist
