Why are those that are most similar (human - chimp for example) almost identical at the genomic DNA sequence level, those less outwardly similar (human - dog) less similar at the DNA level. Why does the degree of relatedness determined by genomic DNA sequence correspond almost without exception to the fossil record?

Why did God make genomic DNA sequences in different species similar at all? Is He trying to confuse us by deliberately providing such strong evidence for evolution by speciation through common descent?

Your thoughts please.

Not socialized; Mammals are not separate from other creatures. Mammals share gene similarity with fruit flies and roundworms and even bacteria.

Not socialized; I hope you don't think "mineral" has DNA. Anyway, try reading a basic genetics text for relatedness of genomic DNAs. Human share many genes with plants even.

Good luck!

He's a prankster.

Zap! "Let's see these people believe in me now! Muahahahah!!!"

Edit - I REALLY must point out "New Creation"s answer below. It sums up the Creationist philosophy in a nutshell.

"God created the heavens and the earth. That's all I need to know so now I can just go on with my life and not worry about it."

(Applause) Thanks, dear. You prove our point eloquently.

Biosystems are very similar for all living things. Reusable components makes production very efficient. A nursery rhyme, a poem or an epic novel contain the same letters of the alphabet. The DNA sequences are simply the alphabet of life. The modern alphabet did bot happen by chance. It evolved but it was created by men who wanted more efficient communication and recording of human experience.

If God made us from dirt, shouldn't my DNA and chemical make up be almost identical to that of dirt? After all, if I go way back in my family tree, I will see that the tree is also growing out of dirt ;)

Those gosh darn evilutionists would rather have 'monkey's swinging around in their family tree than just admit we are all made of dirt!

1.It shows God's ceation is so grand and powerful that it doesnt need to be tweeked that much to create something distinctly different.

2.I fully believe God has created life in other galaxies, not other planets in our own galaxy, but more than likely one intelligent life for to a galaxy. And in the event that the intelligent species should meet visit eachother; the DNA allows for the distinctions of who belongs to which galaxy.

Just my thoughts

God is beyond anything we could possibly imagine. God knows exactly what He is doing. We just need to except it is what it is and quit trying to be as smart as God by trying to figure out why things are. God created the heavens and the earth. That's all I need to know so now I can just go on with my life and not worry about it. It really is that simple.

The answer is in the fact that all mammals share a DNA set that separates them from other creatures...the hierarchy in the animal kingdom is pretty much perfect in that if it is not influenced by human intervention it is a self sustaining ecosystem...each has it's place in the system...sounds very much like an intelligently designed system doesn't it???

Maybe he didn't care about the DNA, he just wanted to create something and it happened to have close to the same DNA as something else. This question is quite unnecessary.

Tiss all a trick, I simply do not believe you, even though you have loads of evidence for it.

I agree with Elissa <3.... this question involves uncomfortable truths and hurts my head....
