Well i live in the suburbs of NYC in Fairfield county connecticut.. and we have snow on the ground here. We ar eonly about a 45 min train ride out of the city.
If you are looking for somewhere where will be falling, you will have to go way upstate in the mountains.

Try heading out upstate a little bit. We haven't really gotten snow in the city (it's more like freezing rain), but if you go about an hour or so North they've been getting lots of snow.

I am also in upstate NY, we do have plenty of snow here, but we are further than 3-4 hours from NYC. I believe it is closer to 7.
You can get an inexpensive flight and be here in one hour.

you have have been given Adirondack Park in new york. The Niagara Falls section is relaxing in an old college cheesy carnival way, with lots of "museums" on the Canadian section. From NYC, Ithaca (contained in the Finger Lakes area) is approximately 2 hundred miles of ideal environment away and is abode to 3 of the nicest organic environment that i've got ever seen on the east coast. it quite is a cultural epicenter besides - abode to Cornell U. and known by potential of many to be the Haight-Ashbury of the east.

Anywhere in upstate NY and north of the shoreline in CT. Hurry though, because the rain may wash some of it away on Sunday (12/23).
