I would imagine the only time they go home is to spend all of the money they have earned and look at their house with a paid up mortgage...., A skilled worker is fine, as long as the standard of work is ok, (except builders, most are shite!)
HST ? Lack of opportunities and oppression.......
Most migrants openly admit that they come here because they get everything that the would not at home.
I've even seen an interview with Nigerian children saying that they are "coming to Britain because they give you money for free". otherwise they would stay at home.
I'm not being resentfull, just honest...

batteryb - well I live in CZ and I don't know who the hell you are talking too here. Most of the people I know in Czech Rep who have been to the UK to work have come back for good because it is so damn expensive there and they actually have a better standard of living here than they get in Britain. This is especially true for those with education. I miss home a lot but I could not afford to go back, so I am an immigrant here for a better life and I would reccomend it to anyone.

How come you Brits complain about Eastern Europeans when most of the jobs being stolen and crime is commited by Indians and Africans who are not even EU members?
Seems a bit hypocritical, you would be crying racism if it was a non white but because they are White, it is acceptable to target Eastern Europeans.

Don't act like this isn't happening in the USA. I have been told by one that they plan to stay long enough to get SS and go back and live good. Later they found out just how little the dollar was below the Euro. I laughed my *** off and told them that is going to be one good thing about the American dollar going into the toilet. They will not have anything to take with them. Maybe they will leave now and go back to those really great little countries they left and wait for the next dictator to show.

Imo, it's mostly Central Europeans you are talking about. Why would they want to go back when they can earn more in the UK.

Most people could put up with a little resentment in exchange for the handouts we are providing. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=476731&in_page_id=1770
However, there is a possibility that while other factors may not lure them home, the prospect of improved wages and working conditions in their homeland, where there is a shortage of workers, might. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2007/nov/08/economics.immigrationasylumandrefugees

they are not here to cause trouble. they are here to better them selves. i don't resent them at all. my objection is to the horror of mindless barbarism being given support by the labour party in my country. my objection is not not to people coming here to work. it is to people that come to a civilised country and bring they're filthy violence and mindless hatred and discrimination with them.

In many cases, the lack of opportunities or the oppression that they face in their home countries make it worth dealing with the intolerant, double standards and generally small minded rudeness of some people here in UK.
