You feasibly could, but as I know from personal experience, you may be setting the bar too high. Losing weight takes time and work, and results are not typically seen for quite a while. Recommendations?
Start Small. It seems you have set a goal for yourself to get to 140. You need to set some mini-goals in order to get there. Start off saying you want to lose 5 pounds. Get a calendar, and weigh in every day, and mark it down. Once you reach your mini-goal, set a new one.
Watch your eating habits. (Probably the hardest for me) Whenever you go shopping, try to cut out the excess junk food. Watch the calorie counts, fat, sodium, and cholesterol listed on the package. Vegetables are a great alternative snack in moderation.
Push ups and crunches are great for burning off the excess. You could also run in place. A variation that I used was running in place with my hands in front of me, palm down. As you are running in place, your knees go should high enough to hit the palms of your hands. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes.
Having a routine helps too, so if you can handle it, get yourself an exercise tape, and use it habitually. If you want to shed the pounds, you should be working out 3-5 times per week. Make sure to keep yourself accountable by marking your calendar.
Also Keep in mind that depending on your physique, 140 may not be the best weight for you. You should check online to see what a healthy weight is for your height. Keep in mind that working out helps build muscle. 3 Lbs of muscle take up the same space as 1 Lb of fat. So really what you may end up striving for is a better self image and Physique, rather than a target weight....always something to keep in mind.
Best wishes, and Good Luck!

The person you should ask that question to, is your physician. Not having seen you, I don't know your height, body build, or other health factors that may need to be considered in determining a healthy weight for YOU. Individuality is the key factor here.
I am curious as to why you have picked the magic number of 140. Seriously, talk to a physician who is familiar with your health history. I would look shorter term, and aspire to reach 190. Then, when you get there, make the goal 180. Expect to work through plateaus. And, please keep in mind that what you should really be after are making lifestyle changes that will help you long term. Develop proper eating habits, and incorporate exercise options into your life that interest you, that you have fun doing, and that you will tend to keep in your life.
For example, running is not an exercise option that I like. However, I'll get on a bike and ride for an hour or two. I can incorporate wind sprints on a bike to raise my cardiovascular threshold.
See your doctor, then go out and have fun!

I can't say that I would recommend any of those pills that claim you can lose a bunch weight fast without watching calories. I think they are unhealthy and just take your money. To lose the weight, it's pure math. You must expend more calories than you take in. That means exercise and sensible eating. As for food, avoide fatty foods and refined wheat such as white bread and white rice. You want to eat carbs that are low glycemic. These produce sustained energy at a slower pace. High glycemic (like sweets, colas) will spike your blood sugar and you will feel hungry more quickly. (check this site or others)

As for exercise, a gym or structured program (aerobics class) is best because of the equipment and availability of people that can show you the best way to train. If that's not possible, you can exercise at home by combining aerobic activity (walking, mowing, raking) with strength training (pushups, squats, situps, barbells). Building lean muscle will increase your resting metabolism, meaning you will be burning more calories at rest than you would otherwise. Be sure to increase your protien intake for strength training. Another interesting source is the book "Body for Life". I did that program and it's pretty good, however, they really just want you to buy their supplements (which you do not need to do). But when I did it, if you completed the program, you got free supplements or a refund (or something). Just don't believe all the pictures in the book of people that look like they lost 100 pounds in 8 weeks. It really takes longer. Good luck !!

The best thing in the world is Weight Watchers. You learn what you should and should not eat. I was on it all this year and lost a total of 25 pounds. My whole life changed when I relized how to cut calories and points! I also exercies by walking and using a star climber. If you are serious about losing weight then seriously think about joining a gym. There are so many people that feel the way you do and its nice to know that you are not alone! Best of Luck!

Isagenix is working for me and I would recommend this program to anyone. I lost over 40 pounds in 9 weeks and went from a size 14 to an 8!! It is nutritional food replacement and cleansing. No calorie counting or meetings or weigh-in's. When something works for me, it is hard to be quiet about it. You are not alone. So many people are carrying extra weight and feel like I did...like a slug. Now I am working on a "new woman" and my husband has a "new wife". God bless you and Merry Christmas.
