How safe do you feel in America{USA}? and why?

I feel very safe. I don't live in a large city. I have police protection, a rescue squad, and neighbors. If I did not feel safe, I would get out there and make sure things improved, because there are many people less self-sufficient than I am. I have never owned a gun, and never plan to.

Extremely safe. I stay away from bad areas of the cities and have a concealed carry permit which I use whenever I have to go into an area where I don't feel so safe.

I've even open-carried on occasion. Hey girls...if you didn't know it, guns are "hot guy magnets". :D

When I was growing up no one even locked their doors - now you either have to carry or not go out at night! I did move from a third world American city to an area that is safe so I feel much safer now.

I feel a lot safer here than some other parts of the crazy world we live in, but that is not saying very much for the human race

I don't feel safe at all. I think alot depends on where you live but even in what was considered "safe" areas.....it's not as safe as it once was. We are definately over-populated as to the amount of police and such to handle the population. It was about a year ago but a guy was pummeling this woman in our street and it was 2 hrs. before the police got here. Our hands were tied as to what we could do without getting in serious trouble ourselves.

Crimes have gotten more brazen and violent. Not enough to just kill someone anymore.....they have to violate them further in some way. Stuff that used to happen in the dead of night have become daytime events. 45 yr. old woman beaten to death with a baseball bat at 7:30 am in her driveway while getting ready to leave for work. Wallet and keys stolen, car found and torched 1/2 mile away. Nobody knows nothing, seen nothing..........man shot on porch at 2 pm....again nobody knows nothing, seen nothing......65 yr old woman has purse stolen in the grocery store at 10 am.....suspect wearing a hoodie ...look at this grainy video and call police.....7/11 robbed at 12:30 pm by gun point. Mc Donalds robbed when suspect enters drive thru window and attacks employee at 7 pm. Car windows smashed throughout neighborhood for no apparent reason than something to do. Home invasions. Heck no I don't feel safe. Kids video taping themselves brutalizing another kid for fun. Children shot sitting at their kitchen table doing homework.....gang violence suspected.

Especially when that is happening and yet they'll bust a kindergardener for bringing in an army toy for show and tell. People sued for millions because someone was "offended". Scams going on right and left, identies stolen and nothing is done. Toxic toys, food and god knows what else and "gee....nothing we can do"....millions and millions and millions of people running around this country illegally and you can't ask legal status? A government who ties everybodys hands and says we can't do anything? I mean it's sick! Someone can bust into your home, beat you up and maybe you get one good punch in as they're running out the door and the INVADER sues you for assult or cries "racism"? Even if it's stupid and nothing happens.....it's resulted in a huge loss of money getting yourself defended while the ACLU or someone is footing the criminals bill. 500 lbs of pot can come across the border and nothing happens but your teenage daughter gets kicked out of school for 2 midol for her cramps. I'm checked for a lifetime and have to back-up and prove everything with documents, pee in a bottle,have an education, speak foreign languages....yet someone can be illegal with stolen identies and no documents, not speak this nations language and you can't ask them anything but you must give it to them because they are a supposid minority?

It's insanity to extreem and it's the innocent law abiding people suffering the most while every other element gets the green light. Police are being attacked here, border patrol agents are being attacked from the other side of the border and they have to defend themselves with "tear gas"? Mob rules. It's insane. Sheer insanity. It's intolearble to be dis-respectful to a holy book but OK to lop someones head off. There's dual rules, random enforcement.........darned right I don't feel safe......not in my country, my neighborhood or even my own home.

I feel mostly safe from other people that live here (95%).

I am semi- concerned about terrorism, which makes me feel a bit less safe.

I am very concerned about our government trying to revoke our Constitution and passing the NAU- I won't feel safe if that happens.

I want OUT because of the trash living here and coming into this country.

I want out because I am sick and tired of our corrupt government that completely disregards our Constitution.

I want out because we are over-populated.

I want out because our economy is hitting the fan.

I want out because Our education system lacks any depth.

I want out because my husband is fighting for this country, and he is being stepped on every time an illegal immigrant is allowed to step over the border.

I certainly Dont feel safe as the government doesn't protect us. And, contrary to the Constitution, we cannot protect ourselves against the govermnent.
