Why is it okay to come from a rich country yet if she came from a poor country like Poland people are pissed?

True she loves the UK and is not after handouts in fact she is not entitled to them nor does she need them.

She certainly is not a gold digger since I would be better off in the USA. I have had americans accuse me of gold digging on the internet because I told them I was married to an american and they assumed I be over in the US taking advantage.

Maybe she just likes you, and as a result, it doesn't matter where you are living?
People from poorer countries often have a skewed idea of what it means to live in a free and prosperous country. They tend to focus initially on only the material benefits, and neglect the more subtle aspects of it.
Freedom is a process, not an end result. It allows you the opportunity to strive for whatever you want, but it doesn't guarantee that whatever you want will be given to you. If you were raised in a heavily socialized country that dictated supply, as opposed to responded to demand, this distinction is often missed.

Well, if it's like the US, as long as she's there legally and contributing to society rather than taking, nobody WILL complain. We tend to gripe about those who are here - who shouldn't be - and who are taking - what they aren't entitled to-. I'm betting that things are much the same in the UK. That's the reason you rarely see any complaints about Brits living here. They pull their own weight and respect the laws. What's to complain about?

Doesn't need hand outs, doesn't complain and you're a gold digger in the US. The hand outs and gold digger bit I can except but a wife who doesn't complain, NO EFFIN CHANCE!

'and she is more than welcome as far as I'm concerned. so are the polish people. the only immigrants i object to are the knuckle dragging cave dwellers that come here to cause trouble, pull our society to pieces and start they're pointless barbaric violence. i make no secret of the fact that i do not feel comfortable with Muslims in my country. i don't trust a people that would slit the throat of an animal and let it bleed taking up to 15 min's to die an agonising death. neither do i trust a people who's very religion simmers with hatred for every other member of the human race. and i don't give a toss who knows it. i don't regard it as racism. i regard it as common sense to want to remove barbarism from my country.

because you are probably not coming for benefits and a free house,
you probably work and earn your way. for a better answer read the news look at the job market look who gets what here, it sure is not us Scots or the English for that matter. it goes to the poor people who don't work. thats why no one complains about you wife. and also there is not 100's of thousands of yanks trying to get in here
people wonder why we dont want the EUseless. if its so good there why do they all come here to sponge of us.. if its so good why dont they stay home

The highest percentage of illegal immigrants in the UK are Australians, there are 40,000 overstaying their visas in Britain but you never here anyone complain about them.
In Australia it is the British

There you've hit the nail bang on the head. If she'd been eastern European she'd have been called everything from illegal immigrant to gold digger.
But because America is rich and prosperous, they're welcome because whilst there's no technical difference between a Polish worker and an American one in this country, the Polish one will still get accused of stealing a British person's job.
See, say something that's true and watch the thumbs all turn down.
Truth hurts, doesn't it?

For 3 reasons.
1. She speaks English
2. Britain has a long history of backing America
3. From a young age, every Englishman has been brought up on American Culture!
