I've lived in the border all of my life. Sometimes I travel on the American airport and sometimes I travel on the Mexican airport. Ever since I was a boy I remember the airplane ALWAYS being late on the American size, and the plane always being on time in Mexico. It was no surprise to me when I was a teen when Aeromexico was declared the most punctual airline in the planet, it has been that way for over a decade.
The other day I was on the American airport, the plane was delayed as ALWAYS, so I mentioned how this wouldn't happen if we had taken the plane on the Mexican side.
I was surprised people didn't know airplanes in Mexico always land the minute they say they will.

All anyone has to do is to type "Aeromexico" and "punctual" on any search engine to see the hundreds of articles about the most punctual airline in the planet.

I just found out most people don't know this,

Why is this not common knowledge?

I think you might need to submit a question to the philosophy section to try to understand why people don't have common knowledge of basic facts.

For this one, it is probably a combination of several things:

Aeromexico flies primarily in and out of Mexico, so it caters mainly to Mexican citizens. Many US citizens and Europeans probably fly other airlines when they go to Mexico. So, there is a general lack of experience with Aeromexico.

Bigotry and bias probably play a role. (I think we have seen this in one answer already.) Too many people associate Mexico with a cartoonish character sleeping along a quiet street in the middle of the day, with a sombrero pulled down over his head. With that image in mind, it is hard for some people to image anything in Mexico as punctual.

Finally, the biggest reason for me would be that it is hard to imagine using "airline" and "punctual" in the same sentence. It doesn't seem to be tied to any one airline, it is just the entire system (globally) seems prone to delays. I have been delayed in US airports, European airports, and even airports in Mexico. It has never seemed to be airline-related.

For my next trip through Mexico, I will look seriously at Aeromexico as an option.

That seem so on the net but so not true. The window in regard to what is considered ontime is vast. Been there done that so many times.

Plane can show up and land but the delay in the airport itself can be long. Because it comes from a country that has so many illegals.

But I do so totally agree..... worldwide the US carriers are the worst!

its not true. aeromexico leads in on time arrivies because Mexico gives a longer time window for the flight to be called on time.
