Hi there again...the average cat sleeps for 13-18 hours a day. http://www.thecatsite.com/Behavior/43/Cat-Sleep-More-Than-Just-a-Catnap.html

The reason is that cats use huge amounts of energy when they hunt (play for domestic cats) and they need to conserve energy in between their hunting activity. When a cat (or any living thing for that matter) sleeps, it uses very little energy. The longer a cat sleeps, the more energy it conserves and the less often it has to hunt. Although today's domestic cats don't really need to hunt, their genes are still the same as before we took them into our homes as pets.

Kittens tend to sleep just as much or more than grown cats. This is primarily due to the fact that growth hormone is only released during sleep.

The actual diet of a cat is also a factor. Cats are carnivores. Eating meat makes you sleepy and anyone who's just had a huge steak can attest to this.

Kittens and puppies are exactly like human infants. They sleep a lot in the beginning. When they start to teethe, they chew on things. They need help, (especially dogs), learning to use the proper bathroom techniques. Kittens (cats) love to sleep! My cat is 11 years old, and at times it seems all she does is eat, sleep and poop! Anyway, it's nothing out of the ordinary. Enjoy your kitten!

That is just what babies do, they sleep a lot, and eat, and play.

I have 3 full grown cats, myself, and yes, they do sleep a lot, too. Mostly during the day, while we are away, but in the afternoon, they are wide awake, and ready of play!

As for the time to envision on them, i'd wait till you're valuable the mum isn't under the residing house; feral cats who're cornered in many cases attack. as long through fact the kittens seem healthful, i'd enable them to be. good luck!

As long as your kitten has a normal weight this is probably not an issue. If a kitten or cat is underweight this is a red flag and should be investigated.

It's a baby... that's how they grow.. they sleep! Just like human babies.. if it's sleeping leave it alone... when it wakes.. enjoy your play time! That is why cats own humans and not the other way around... enjoy, you have so many wonderful years ahead of you with that bundle of fur!
God Bless.
