After answering a question today related to the Atheist Agenda, and after doing some research, this question popped into my head & I turned to Y!A R&Sers in seeking the answer. So, good people, what is your answer & why?

Best Answer will be awarded to a thought provoking answer (which are much appreciated), whereas thoughtless drivel will be ignored (or thumbs-downed I guess). Thank you very much!

Generally no. Atheists come to the conclusion that there is no God and thus become atheists.

There is a very small number of people, though, who claim to be atheists although they actually do still believe in a god. Occasionally you see answers like "My sister died a horrible death. Why should I believe in a god that would let that happen?" Well, obviously, just because an entity allows something you don't like doesn't mean said entity doesn't exist. That person is just "angry at" a god he obviously still believes in. He is using atheism as an excuse to no longer WORSHIP said deity, but this is tantamount to me not believeing in my boss because I didn't get a big enough raise.

Others who get "angry with" god, turn to his foil to piss him off. Those people, motivated the same way but not in denial about their actual belief, call themselves "satanists."

There are also Satanists who follow LeVey satanism, which doesn't actually believe in satan.

So, to answer the question, a small contingent of both atheists (who are not true atheists) and satanists (who are not true satanists) take on those names simply because they are mad at an entity they still believe in.

Atheists do not believe in God, so a true atheist has no connection witrh the equally (in the opinion of an atheist) non-existant satan, but tiny the angry-with-god contingent shares a motivation with the small angry-with-got satanist contingent.

Some Satanist are essentially atheists who follow a form of Satanism that uses Satan as an archetype and builds a philosophy of life around it that draws on being an answer and opposite to Christianity. They don't believe in Satan literally. Their philosophy has a "do onto others as they do onto you" theme. Treat those who treat you well and others get what they deserve, etc...They are a small percent of atheists. Most atheists aren't nonreligious Satanists.

There are also religious Satanists. I met a girl on here who is a religious Satanist. She provided a link to a site that covered their beliefs. This group saw Satan as a misunderstood figure that has been literally demonized by Christianity. So they wouldn't be Satan worshippers in the way most Christian or other religions might stereotype either. Their practices seemed to draw on a meld of pagan and eastern meditation stuff. This is just one group though. Others may be quite different. No atheist belongs to this group as atheism means not believing in deities regardless of who they are or what they are called.

There is not much thought provoking stuff to write for this. Atheism is simply not believing in any gods and generally not believing in any supernatural entities. This rules out worshiping Satan or following any religion that have a deity.

While there are a few atheist groups, there is not an agenda nor is there a large scale cooperation among the various atheists out there.

The term "satanism" is used by two very different religious philosophies.

There are those who believe in a being called "satan", who is the enemy of God, and they attempt through magic and spells to control this being and make him work for them. These would probably not be considered "atheist", because they believe in a spiritual world and powerful beings that are like "god".

Satanism is also used by an atheist religion. In the Bible, satan's fall is credited to his desire to make himself more powerful then God. This type of "satanism" worships man and self rather than "god". It believes that man is running the universe, and that there is no god. They use the name "satanism" to show that they are placing themselves above "god".

So whether satanism is related to atheism depends on which version of "satanism" you are discussing.

actually devil cant do good deeds, because ,a devil is a devil.now come to your question, look you will see a follower doing something good but on the other hand you will see the reverse thing also .just like that an atheist can do good deeds and also bad deeds!what do those mean?its all about nature.may be you can argue whether the existence of religion is possible or not.or may be at a time not all religion can be true(if u a believer then u can think like that).but the bottom line is point of view, moralities, and human nature which play the vital role.religion tries to give them a shape so that we can choose a right way.remember religion is like a dress.

Most Satanists are atheists, but that's about as relevant as the fact that most Buddhists are also atheists. Atheism is a lack of belief in deities, irrespective of other ideas a person might hold.

As I said a while ago: Truthseekers who believe in satan are not truthseekers, since there is no proof of the existence og satan and of god.
Satan and god both are in the same department. They are created by people who want power over others.
What is the Atheists Agenda? Let Truth conquer?

Satanism is related to Christianity - they are two sides of the same 'coin' as it were.

Atheism is related to nothing - it shares many sympathies with science but really even atheism and science aren't related.

Atheism is too simplistic to be related to a religion - it's just the view held by some that there are no gods (or any of their associated hoo har)

I think that some satanists consider themselves atheists

however so do buddhists

Atheism is just the lack of belief in gods and I am certainly not a satanist nor a buddhist for that matter.

Many Satanists are really atheists in that they don't believe in any god. They don't even believe that Satan literally exists.

Most atheists are not Satanists. And to be honest atheists have very little in common, so we don't really have an agenda. We don't even make groups very well.
