When I got home, after searhing and comparing pictures online I have 3 girls and 1 boy. I don't want this boy any longer b/c my poor girls will be pregnant often right? How do I get this boy away from the girls? How often do they get pregnant? How long do they carry the baby? Any advice?

The only way you can stop livebearers from getting pregnant is to seperate the males from the females. If they've already been in the tank together for any length of time, it's likely that at least one of the females will be pregnant by now - unless they're still babies themselves. Also, females can make themselves pregnant up to 6 months after mating.

The gestation period of livebearers is 28 days give or take a few days
they can have fry every month, and can have them for up to 6 months even without a female because they can store the sperm for that long
For that reason i usually recommend only getting males if you don't want any fry
other then that, there is not really anything you can do besides taking the male out to prevent having fry

Hope that hellps
Good luck

Hello, your local pet store should be happy to take back unwanted fish. Mollies must mature to sub adults before they breed, so you might find you still have a while before any babys appear.

You can try to seperate them ,but as you may not know. A female can store sperm for a period of time. So even though they can be seperate from a male they can still produce fry.

they Carey the babies for 2-4 months depending on the condition of the water
-temp
-tank size
-clearness

you could always get an isolation net for the boy , or a mini isolating tank that goes in your tank
