I completely agree with you and something REALLY aught to be done to stop these slayings.
unfortunately,,the sensless slayings of humanbeings is going on in several areas of the world and they take priority, in terms of 'action taken'.
You have a computer,,,send correspondence to Japanese officials about your outrage. Better yet,,,send him/her a petition.
probably won't help,,,but it might disturb his sleep for a few weeks,,(HOPEFULLY).
God bless you for bringing this JAPANESE autrocity to our attention. Barbarians is right!!!!!

No, it is NOT necessary! You're right, it is barbaric, and it's just an excuse for the Japanese to carrying on murdering innocent creatures. I can understand using a couple for scientific purposes, but 1,000 is just ridiculous. I hope the people who hunted them have to pay for that at some point in their lives. Karma's great, and I hope it comes back and gets the people who hunted them, right where it hurts.

can you farm the whale as we farm the cow? dump!

back to question, they do not hunt it for food even!
they have to promote the whale by make it curry and sell it cheap. google for curry whale and you will see what i am talking about.
i can tell you, they hunt because... well i am here and i don't even know for what!!! completely dump culture, no useful scientific data ever come out, no real reason ever been told. they just use my tax money for un-useful program! crappp!

No its not . They are like the Chinese who think they own all the species in the world. And its perfectly acceptable to abuse them whether they are nearly extinct. Barbaric doesn't even cover them crimes.
