Sure it is possible:

-sqrt(n^2) is the same as:

-1 x sqrt(n^2) and the square root of n^2 is n so,
-1 x n
-n

Yes--substitute a number and see.

n ≡ -1


-√[(-1)(-1)] =

-√[1] =

-[√[1] =

-[1] =

-1.

it is impossible because 'n' can't be minus.

-n x -n = +n^2
