Well, yes and no...War is a violent, on-going reality; intolerance is prominently interwoven into our national identity, and everyday we get more desensitized to the sufferings of our fellow human-beings...numb from our daliy fix of TV. Fuel prices are suffocatingly high (our own fault since we should have found a way to not need it so much by now). And is there anyone who woke up this morning and made the joyful proclamation, "Hey, I've got all the money I need"? If history is any indicator things will continue to deteriorate generationally so that some poor sap will one day look back to this f u c k e d up moment in time and consider these the "good old days".
But I'm sitting here writing this mere days before Christmas...it's stingingly cold, but it's a friendly cold and it seems right. Amid this septic tank of a situation, people still bother to fall in love, and they still have children, little blank canvasses of spirits that are God's decision with moral certainty that we should go on. That means there's always hope...strong hope, in fact.
Yeah, we're in a jam here, and even the most detacted persons among us have to realize that fact. But we find reasons to get up every morning to do whatever we do. Everyday above ground is a good day. We still believe in the future, and we're far from a point where we're ready to give up. It may not sound like much, but that means a lot.

No, the mind tends to dwell and blow things out of proportion. I especially pick at things trying to find solutions, its then that problems can seem worse than they are... When they look hopeless. Action gives you direction and the sense of doing something breaks the problem down in to managable pieces, its only those first steps that cause the trouble.

I always tell myself that no matter how bad things are, they could always be worse. Then I think of a worse situation.
They may seem very bad, but are never as bad as they seem.

Sometimes - but not always and *no-one* else can decide that for you - you feel how you feel and if you feel bad you need to live through it not have people tell you to "snap out of it".
