Option 1) Go to a nice store that sells bras (like Victoria's secret) and get measure to find out what size you really wear. Then order them on-line.
Option 2) Go to a nice store like Aerie when boys are probably not going to show up
Option 3) Stop being embarrassed and continue to buy them at Wal-Mart. Believe me, the boy is more embarrassed around bras than you are.

Coolio, I have a funny little story to tell you that might give you a chuckle. This happened a few years ago, shortly after the war in Iraq started. I stopped by a Victoria's Secret in our local mall one day about a month or so before Christmas that year. I was looking for some hose to wear with a dress I'd gotten for the choir concert I was singing in, and you will never guess what I saw at the back of that store !! It was a guy, alright, and he was a United States Marine in full uniform !!! He was there looking for a teddy for his girlfriend, and was on Christmas leave before his unit was due to ship out. It was really funny, because he looked just as embarrassed to be there as some of the sales girls obviously were to be waiting on him. Needless to say, I could hardly keep a straight face as I watched these ladies haranging over what he should get. That was about the LAST place I ever expected to see someone like that in, much less in full uniform. So I can relate to what you are saying about being embarrassed when you are bra shopping. When I have to do this, I usually will go to stores that cater exclusively to women, such as Hanes or Bali, or to places like Dress Barn. Most of these stores hold little or no appeal to men, and I have found that very few guys hang out in them for any length of time. I mean, yeah, there are exceptions to this, but in general, it's pretty rare that you see guys in places like that.

I hope that this story tickles your funny bone a bit. It certainly does mine, whenever I think about it.

Not at all! In fact if a stranger is looking at me while I look at bras, I hold up the huge bras, that usually embarrasses them! It works most guys walk away! lol

No. It is no more or less embarrassing than buying underwear or shoes. Every female needs them, guys know they need them. And really, are probably not paying attention to the bra section of Wal-mart! I have no problems with it at all.

I was embarrassed when I was a teenager because I had to wear the smallest bras imaginable, but as I've aged I really do not care anymore. I like my breasts now and I'm not embarrassed that I wear smaller sizes. I know that no one is paying that much attention to me and if they are, let them! ;)

Not embarrassed because guys are there. I don't really care, why would/should they be in that section of the shop anyway?!

I have more trouble trying to find my size.. I'm a 34DD and in New Zealand the only bras that come in that size are old ladies ones!! I do my best to find plain ones though! It's very frustrating.

Gosh, no!!! I'll tell you who is embarrassed when I go shopping for bras--my 17-year-old son!!!!

And for the first answerer: When you grow up, you'll realize there's not a thing wrong with Wal-Mart.

Not at all. In fact there is usually at least one guy working in the Victoria Secret stores which I find odd. How could they possibly know anything about bras when they don't even have boobs.
