If it is a war for oil then why are we paying almost $3.00 a gallon for gas? If it was a war for oil we would just go over and take it.

ok some of you insist it is a war for oil, but you still haven't answered my question, if it is a war for oil then why are we paying so much for gas? Why not just take the oil and lower the gas back to a reasonable price?

Oh yes.
People say we started all of this, and put all our troops in harms way for there oil fields.
9/11? yea right. Those people are probably also the ones that think September, 11th, was a government plan, a big fat hoax! And we just used Osama bin laden, and he really loves Americans! And we're just the big bad bullies using him as a scape goat, etc etc etc.

This war is too complicated, and too deep to say something as simple as "it's all for oil"
If we wanted a war for simply oil, we'd just crush the Mexicans and/or South Americans, and take it.
Seeing as, when we're not producing our OWN oil, about 50 percent of our petroleum imports are from countries in the Western Hemisphere.
aKa:, canada, MEXICO, and SOUTH AMERICA.

That is because the president has an interest in driving up oil prices, because of business ties. That is why he also is beating the war drum on Iran, so investors get nervous and the oil price goes up.
His strategy was brilliant: Claim you're a Christian and therefore assure support from the large group of bible simpletons in this country. Then wage some wars in oil-rich countries to drive up oil prices. Once he retires, he will be raking it in....

Specifically, its a war to guarantee our ability to buy that oil from the locals, Saddam was not considered a reliable or stable guardian of the mideast oil spigot.

By the way, the reason the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor was to keep the US Fleet from interfering with their plan to directly occupy and control the oil resources of the Southeast Pacific and Asia.

Yes people say it for war. But the actual fight broke when USA supports Saudi Arabia in the year 1991.
People didn't say when the war broke between Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
They say only when the war broke between USA and Iraq.
People may say anything they like. But what is true it must be taken as granted and it will be taken as granted in the future, when the truth is revealed.
Today many US and UK's soldier's are risking their lives and many soldiers died, since the war had broken out.
Even though loss is incomparable, there must be certain cause to take control of another country.
It will be revealed in few months or in future.

to answer your question, first it a quest for power, and the oil is the prize. we pay three dollars for gas because we don`t speak up and stick together, i was told this is a government of the people, not a government for the rich. our sons and daughters are dying and for what. this was started over $1.00. there is more to this story. stay in touch

Not thinking of a career in the diplomatic corps, are you dear?

It's a war for oil, and the powers that be have to be diplomatic about it. Pity their idea of diplomacy only involves governments and armies and not the poor civilians that get caught in the crossfire, but then again, to them the little people don't matter.

It sure seems like it's a war for oil. I don't really even know what the hell we're fighting for anymore. My freshman year of high school history we were taught that you cannot fight terror. There was a whole chapter devoted to it. So tell me, why are we fighting something that we cannot win?
