I was supposed to go into the hospital on Monday night to be induced...the hospital is too busy and I STILL have not gotten in! I am going crazy waiting around my house for the phone to ring. Last night they said I was number 4 on the list...ugh! Any suggestions on how to wait this thing out? I am so anxious!

You poor thing. You're probably going nuts waiting!! We could all say read a book, or start knitting a blanket or something silly like that. But in reality, I know you're probably a mess and have no intrerest in things like that. I know at the end...waiting...it stinks. Try and be patient. Best of luck to you!!

my best friend was due on September 13th, waited until 2 Oct till baby was finally induced!!!! Thats 19 days overdue! Boy was she p**$ed off!

There is no easy way to wait it out, but keeping well rested and relaxed is going to help when the time comes. You've probably already tried but....have you had sex to try and bring on labour? I don't know if you've had an internal exam done to see if anything is happening downstairs; but try having sex and laying with a big pillow under your butt for at least 1/2 an hour or all night ifyou can. The semen can act just like the 'gel' in an induced labour to soften the cervix and encourage dilation and labour. If you've lost your plug already then this will most likely work better but the sex actually made me lose mine and I had my son 24hours later.

Best of luck and try and get some well deserved rest while you can..

No suggestions on how to wait it out, You didn't mention how far long you were when you asked anyone wait this long for induction. I went 1 week overdue with my 1st child b4 they induced me, my water was way to low and it hadn't even broke yet. They did a ultrasound to find this out. #4 huh! try to make youself #1 now now if thats what you want. I would fake a reason to go into the hospital hoping that wouldn't send me home being that you were suppose to be induced days ago. Do lot of walking. Best of labor for you and your unborn child!

Assume your pregnancy is without complications. Best thing is to go into labour spontaneously anyway. Inducation of labour without some sign of natural preparation for birth either by dilation, effacement, or contractions (even irregular ones) gives you a 30% chance of successful vaginal birth. Even though waiting is making you crazy, it may benefit you in the long run and increase your chances of success.

Try and induce yourself - believe me it is so much nicer!
I was induced and it took 36 hours for labour to start. Three lots of gel suppositories, three lots of hormone drips, three attempts to break my water! The baby will come when he/she is ready, let nature take its course.

Try the usual to help things along: raspberry tea, dancing, sex, curries, exercise.....

Good luck!

try hard to be patient...if the baby was ready it would have already come besides inducing does not always work
