Why doesn't Yoda destroy Dooku's ship in attack of the clones?

In AOTC, Dooku escaped using his solar ship. He distracts Yoda by breaking off that giant pillar. Yoda moves the pillar away and saves Anakin and Ben. But later he jumps up on his ship and does all these moves. so why doesn't he just grab his lightsaber and destroy his spaceship?

That's exactly why I can't stand those movies.

They make absolutely NO sense.

If I was Anakin chasing after Dooku with Obi Won I would have turned around, saw his ship and with my lightsaber gone, "Oh, is this your ship...?"

Slash, slash with the lightsaber disabling the ship and trapping Dooku there.
