With my second I didn't get mine till 9 months because I started taking birth control again. I got the Rod in my arm thing after 2 months with my first and got my period a week later too. Both times was like a normal period that lasted the normal length of about 5 days for me.
It really does depend on the person in question. If you are breastfeeding you are less likely to get your period until after you have stopped or unless you start taking synthetic birth control, then the hormones will kick start it again.

I'd say it's different for everyone. I got pregnant with my first in Oct. 2000 and never had my period until April 2005 when our third was 9 months old. I had always been regular until this. When I had it though it was a normal period. and i have been regular for the most part ever since. and our kids are now 6, 5, and 3. I breastfed all three so I know that had a play in it too.

Got mine at about 8 weeks after delivery...but I couldn't breastfeed which can prolong it. It was heavier then normal but not heavy...but prior to that I was always light. I think it depends more on how your periods were before you got pregnant then anything else.

Varies for most women. Depends of cycle before pregnancy, whether or not they are breastfeeding ( BEWARE - BREASTFEEDING IS NOT A RELIABLE METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL - YOU CAN GET PREGNANT WHILE BREASTFEEDING!!!), use of contraception like Depo shots, etc...
