You can.... IF.... there is noone around to witness it. IF you draw a crowd or disrupt the peace... you could be arrested for disorderly conduct.

someone was sleeping at the editting station where they produce the film. They (by law), cannot 'air' profane words like the f word.
It is a law that is not closely enforced, Ive noticed.
The radio stations 'mute' out bad words in songs ONLY when being watched. As soon as the threat of survielance goes away,,they play the profanities that exsist in the lyrics, once again.
we have some screwed up laws that state a radio station must be informed when being survieled. we also have the same type of laws in other areas,,,,like health department. Companies have to be notified when the health dept official is going to examine their working areas. Same with other agencies that deal with social welfare. If a call of child neglect is made against a person, the agency cannot just 'pop' over unanounced. I think that those types of laws are backward and because they exsist,,,they protect the criminals.

I also saw that show. The cop was very laid back during this traffic stop. He could have arrested the guy when he grabbed the ticket pad from his clipboard. He also did not have to give him the opportunity to retrieve the torn up ticket scraps from the roadway, he could have written another ticket for littering. This whole incident was on the officers dashcam so the proof was there. I think the cop was just enjoying the guys rage.

Yes, a person can do it if they feel brave enough to do so, but I wouldn't recommend it to any one. Personally I would be ashamed of my self if I ever treated some one like that simply because they were doing a job for me. I mean let's face it we pay them to not only protect us but also to enforce our laws.

Why should they have to have people talking to them like that every day that they work for us. Imagine if every day people talked like that to you, where they swore at you day in and day out. I wonder just how many of us would snap after a while, since most people have such a hard time controlling their tempers as it is.

One other thing, remember that all police crusiers now do have video cameras so that any one of us can be the next person we see on TV acting the same way as the person that you were watching. lol That's really a sad thought.

Swearing at a cop is not illegal, but it's not a good idea. If you create a disturbance, impede traffic, touch them, blah, blah, blah you can be arrested. I've been a cop for a long time, and trust me, they can find a reason to arrest you. If nothing else, you'll get run in on a POP charge (Pissing Off Police).

I suppose that depends on how far you take it.
I think many officers are used to it happening at least occasionally and dont take it personally but
well you could possibly step over the bounds of lewdness, disorderly conduct, etc..depends on the temperment of the officer on what he will do to a degree as well I would imagine.

i suppose it all depends on the officer whose taking it, some are more lenient than others i guess, and yes its freedom of speech, and more often than not they let it go over their heads, but if your in their faces, swearing you head off and insulting them, over, and over again, after theyve warned you, they can arrest you for disrespecting them, but i dont think its a jail sentence lol, more like locked in a cell for the night to calm down!

Depends on the officer and the local laws. I'd pass.

If I were the cop I would start making up charges on the spot

Like, "He attempted to assault me, and I had to taser him, 5 times"
But try it I would love to hear the outcome

sure you can swear all you want at a cop,.....while you are at it, you may as well poke your finger in his chest, and say don't screw with me, i pay your wages,.....if you do, let me know when you are out of the hospital,.....
