I only have 15 total I give way more than I receive.. And I see nothing wrong with asking for stars.. A lot of people only answer a question for the 2 points--whats the difference? I'm giving you a star :)

I use the stars to call attention either to the questions or the answers I think my contact list might have fun with. I HOPE to get stars on some of my questions so that people will notice and reply, as a result of the question being displayed on other people's contact lists.

So far, I've gotten almost as many stars as I have hoped for (some questions didn't seem to sing that siren song ....). And I hand them out a lot, but not always. Again, not necessarily as a means of encouraging or rewarding a questioner, but more in regard to questions I want to call to my list's attention. Some I might have fun with but will leave otherwise alone.

Well, this isn't precisely what you asked, but it explains a certain logic for using stars.

I've received 21 times more stars than I've given.

It is better to give then to receive...otherwise, my feeling would be hurt and I'd be sounding like some of the emo folks on here that wanna whine and cry about everything...including the answers they get when they really don't want to hear your answers anyway...

Nope. I've given more. I don't ask questions (or at least haven't yet), I answer them.

Want a star?

Trade you for ten points ;)

I have only asked one question, but I have answered a ton. So therefore I can say without any doubt I have given out more stars than gotten
