For commercials for viagra and stuff like that, they just blurt out what the pill does in like 3 seconds then switch commercials, or their tricky about it like enzyte and they never actually bluntly tell you what the pill does. Beceause they know men are just going to get offended for anything more than that.
For feminine hygene products they always seem to go on and on for like 5 minutes and say the word "vagina" like 8 times per minute, needless to say they don't beat around the bush for anything.
These commercials make me really uncomfortable, beceause I really don't like to hear about women bleeding out of their crotch to begin with. I do not want to think about it at all. Then these commercials have to explain it to me in detail every commercial break durring my favorite program.
Does this type of crap ever make women uncomfortable?

Well, some of them do offend me, but most don't. It depends on how they portray it (like those Platex commercials with the girls dancing with skirts that open all around instead of the girls just doing jumping jack type things in pants), if they make it seem happier and upbeat and not just all about the actual period, then I'm cool. It's the ones that do remind me of menstruating that bother me.
And you shouldn't be so bothered by actual menstruation. You're going to have to deal with it at some point or another with a long term girlfriend or wife.

No, these kind of commercials don't bother me. In fact, when I was a young girl and it was going to be time to have the talk with my mom about growing up, it was the commercials for these products that helped make it easier to have that conversation because I asked my mom what they meant.

Well it mostly depends on how discreet the commercial is. But when I'm at my grandparents house sitting next to my grandpa and one comes on I do tend to feel a little embarrassed! I think both woman hygiene products and men products should be a little more discreet!

I see them on the fem hygiene commercials that air on BET or the fem hygiene ads in black publications. Lately they have been in Tampon commericals as the friend of the white female lead. Most commercials have a white female lead, that's just the way it is, majority rules.

no. it's a natural process. there is nothing wrong with feminine hygiene commercials. i do not recall ads mentioning 'vaginas'
typically commercials are relative to the program you are watching for instance, i do not recal seeing tampon/maxi pad commercials during this weekend's football game. nor do i see tampon commercials on the scifi channel; it would be a waste of air time to advertise to the wrong demographic.

Not most women. Just mute the commercials if you don't want to hear them.

why should we feel offended? they put them out to help us. there are so many people who don't have health insurance. if they know the symptoms to their problems and know what to take for them. might as well get the product and treat themselves. no men want to play with a stinky coochy. you know what i mean...lol
