When you write out a card to more than one person, does the order you put the names show how important each person is to you. For examaple you could write "To Mary, John, Paul and Kate" Is Mary the most important to the writer?

Not really. I usually write oldest to youngest.

Usual card ettiquette :

If to your family and friends your name goes first, if to your partners family / friends their name goes first then listed the rest of the family in age order.

When addressing cards their is usually no particular order.

I usually use the following ordering 'standards':

With friends (who are partners) - better known friend first
With families Mum's and Dad's, then children in order.
If all else fails - alphabetical order ;)

I usually list the names the way it was listed 2 me on their card.

it depends on whether you are sending it to a family-so its father,mother and children in order of birth.If you are sending it to friends who live in the same place you can send individual cards in seperate envelpoes or one large one with seperate cards for each,or use the alphabetical system.
