Its history repeting. I remember when I was young and into MTV, all the older kids were like "all this **** sucks and sounds the same!" and back then We had Nervana on the scene, GNR were just fizzling out, and people still had respect for metalica. It comes with the age.
Also, I don't think the younger generation, wich a lot of the mindless mass prodused music is aimed at, aren't taught about music history or how to apreciate it. It happens all the time. Just history repeting its self.

I think people do but maybe just not through the media of tv altho i did enjoy mobile act unsigned with Jo whiley on C4.
I go to open mic nights and cant believe the talent which passes through there but i guess thats what keeps them real jus playin in lil bars etc instead of cheesin it up on x factor etc.
I prefer to enjoy really good talented artists this way, maybe look for something local to yourself and re-kindle some hope!

If you listen to popular radio, you can see why people don't appreciate creativity - playlists are totally boring and limited. Unfortunately, many people stick to what they're fed, and the stuff on radio is a joke.
The only way to go is college radio or satellite radio.

I give ya 1000.000 points bingo!
the dumb children think that the Black Eyed Peast and the other silly junks like Paris Hilton, 50 cent, Britney Spears are more interresting, than knowing or finding out who DeepPurple, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd were

There has always been people who never appreciated talented muscians, back in the old days you'd have a band like Whitesnake who were really talented and then you'd have ABBA who just repeat the same chords and words. Its not a new thing and it's because people enjoy simple rythms and most never come in contact with talented artists

Look, I'm not sure about anyone else, but I really like original music. I like how everything blends together, if it blends well and sounds good I'll like it. It's about personal taste. You like original music, someone else might not. I like savage garden and mika. I know people who hate savage garden and mika. Each person is talented in their own way, it just depends on who enjoys that type of music as to who appreciates it.

because the world is in a stage of dumbing down, intelligence and pure individuality are stamped down on, so the actual talented people never get noticed. for example jazz musicians, they have been driven underground by people who dont write their own songs or play their own instruments. absolute rubbish.

It's cause they don't play their own instruments. Hello, technology. This is the age of musical decline. Music has become more about fashion and sex symbols rather than the tunes.

I personally love music...and no radio, piped in music. The only music I really have trouble with is rap...but, even then I can appreciate some of it.
