I am quite a solitary person but I do like being around other people- just not part of them. I'd like to live in a city where I could just be another face in the crowd and blend in to the masses; where is good for this? London seems obvious but I've heard it's an expensive place to live?

Thanks!

You can blend in anywhere and just walk in a distant minded manner.

Always be busy because it shows to people on the outside that youre pre occupied!

Then they will leave you alone.

Myself, Like you, am solitary. I hate idle gossip and just like to get on with things.

One thing to be aware of is that the UK...london in particular are the most surveyed cities on earth.

you may blend into a huge crowd but with new recognition software the idea of being anonymous is ludacris.

Manchester is the best place to live in the UK. Although it's busy, it is not half as bad as London, and people here leave you alone, to get on with it. And it is cheaper than London, also. Good luck.

London's lovely. No-one could care less about you and I promise you will never talk to anyone ever again. Except old people. Move to somewhere horrible like Tower Hamlets or Harrow (where I live).

I would go with London. Big enough to blend in and its not that expensive. Other than that theres Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool.
