Hi. I was on the depo injections for quite a while. I never had a period when i was on them which was good but they made me bloat up and feel quite low and depressed so i stopped them. It took a while for my cycle to return to normal. The light period you had was more than likely not a real period, just your body expelling any build up of womb lining. You could be pregnant but i would think unlikely since you've been using condoms. As with any hormonal contraceptive it does take a while for your cycle to return to normal but the cost of a pregnancy test is a small price to pay for peace of mind. Merry xmas and a happy new year x

Yes it's normal Hun. It took months for my period to get back to normal after I came off Depo. I cam off it last December and my periods only returned to 'normal' in september. Some months I'd have no period-Frustrating as were trying for baby number 3. Other months I'd have 2!

Do the test to put your mind at ease but it probably is the Depo :)

i had one shot in june 07 too and didnt go back. after trying since then i finall got pregnant in jan this yr but then miscarried i dont know if it had anything to do with the depo or not. my cycle was proper messed up and is only just sorting itself out! i ovulated completely randomly 3 days before my period had a period then bled brown blood for 3 weeks untill i miscarried. Evil stuff! have they offered u a blood test for progesterone levels on day 21 on your cycle? this is supposed to tell if u are ovulating or not. if not i guess they could do whatever it is they do to make u ovulate. clomid or something similar but im not sure. i have to go for this test next week. i dont know why i ovulated 3 days before my period it shouldnt of happened but it did! Anyway hope this helps and good luck!

Glad to hear you are off of depo provera.

It can take up to or over a year to get your periods back after coming off of depo.

Mine took three months, and that's because I had the help of Kariva (bcp).

It can take up to a year before your body gets back to normal.
Don't worry. Your doctor should have told you this.
