I agree with you it's not true, but it certainly feels like the end as we know it is coming and we can't stop it.
It does feel like that doesn't it?
My faith believes it is coming but we don't know when, and what is coming isn't the end of the world but ...the end of the world as we know it.
When this tired old earth does come to an end? it will be in a coupla billion years from now when the sun goes nova.
Now that would be the end of the world.

Why God should end the world? It is like burning the house fearing to mean bugs. I don't think God will act like that. God loved human beings more than any other creatures He had created in this world. He has given and giving all the facilities to human beings. Today's people are not living like stone age people. God is always thinking what more He can do to the people. In others point of view scientists inventing or discovering many things to facilitate human beings but in my point of view when a scientist starting his research he is asking something from God. God is giving, giving and giving and humans enjoying. After enjoying so much facilities, if human beings continue to fight each other for mean causes and meaningless motives and if they don't live as God expects then He has no other way except destroying all the human beings from the earth and create new human beings. This is like formatting a hard disk of a computer. He has to format the world. He has to clean the world. The world need not be destroyed but only certain living beings must be destroyed and recreated again with better modifications.

Some years ago I had been listening to an Oxford debate on the nuclear arms/war etc. A question was asked of the then prime minister of NZ. 'What would happen if a nuclear missile hit NZ'. PM David Longey, in answer replied. 'We'd burn'. End of debate. If there were points awarded overall, NZ won. Alternately I don't think about it. Life is for the living. Living is now. Whilst I live I enjoy. Albeit there is so much sadness in the world.

I would look forward to the future. I believe the "end" of the world will be when Christ comes to earth again. When that day comes, it will be a joyful reunion. I will be ready when He arrives and be worthy to stand in His presence. But that is what I believe.

the end in neigh, those were word uttered thousands of years ago and we are still here. So if in deed it is the end, how about we all gather for one mega last party then at least we will die with big smiles on our faces

Yet another one of these questions, well it's probably going to end like it says in the book of revelations.
