"Schadenfreude - is a German word meaning 'pleasure taken from someone else's misfortune'"

I bet some people think that word sums me right up ..........

To be fair its slightly true, but often I say things to stir it up around here.

Except for the McCanns who I genuinely don't like for 2 reasons.

a) The neglect of all 3 of their children.

b) Their refusal to accept that what they did constituted neglect.

Schadenfreude is simply posh for sad bast*rd.
You have never met the people you profess to not like , these two Doctors probably don`t like some of the people whose lives they have saved. I think the abolition of bear baiting and dog fighting gave rise to people like you with a sink estate mentality for kicking people when they are down.

No, i don't.

You just suffer.
Not from Schadenfreude or the common cold, thank heavens, but just from life in general.

Perhaps in order to make sense of your own suffering you get a vicarious kick out of someone else's tragic life. You don't feel better for it tho', you just feel bigger.

Maybe i'm wrong, i don't have any proof.

Do you ever clap when a waitress falls and drops a tray of glasses, and ain't it fun to watch figure skaters falling on their asses, don't you feel all warm and cosy watching people out in the rain, it's Schadenfreude, people taking pleasure in your pain!

I think to some extent we all do - otherwise what would be the point of all those Sunday evening programmes where we laugh uproariously at people falling over, crashing etc.
