led zeppelin or pink floyd?

which band is better in your thoughts and why? what is your favorite albums of the two? who's music is better and who's lyrics are better?

I totally love Led Zeppelin.Their music has evolved so much.

I was a teenager when these two bands were on the go and I saw both in concert. They didn't have all that much of a following nor did they have all that much success, certainly not when you compared them with the mainstream bands of the time. OK each produced a couple of decent LPs and the odd/one single, but at the time they were thought of as being good, solid, secondary bands.

Now that most of the mainstream bands of that time have broken up or finished or whatever (the Strolling Bones excepted), suddenly LZ and PF are hailed as being rock legends, just like Santana (another never top of the range act). At big rock conecerts, they were both supporting acts.

So, the answer is neither. If you want to listen to some really good lyrics - and don't laugh - then listen to the Beatles. They may be rubbished today, but there's no-one to touch them and I'm no real fan, but credit where credit id due and not to second rate bands.

Led Zeppelin; i love "Early Days: The Best of Led Zeppelin Vol, 1" granted its a collectors item but still,. its too hard 2 just pick 1 but i'd have 2 say The Battle of Evermore, Kasmir (not in the album i know) & When the Levee Breaks.
Pink Floyd is alright, but i prefer Led b/c i can actually understand what they're saying & they dont sound like whiny little men to me; Over all Led Zeppelin RULES!!! & if they start touring again im so going!!

Led Zeppelin hands down! I grew up with their music and it still sounds just as good as it did back in the day. Pink Floyd is good, but you cannot put them up against a power house like Led Zeppelin. They are all that is good in rock and roll. I love all of their albums so I couldn't pick just one. In general Led Zeppelin is better because you can't go wrong with songs that turn you on and get you laid. :) I know that is how I was made...and probably kashmir/nobodies fault but mine/black dog/or whole lotta love will be playing when I conceive...LMAO

Led Zeppelin for both music and lyrics. I'm one of those rare people that just never got into Pink Floyd. Like a few of their songs but they don't do anything for me emotionally. Led Zeppelin on the other hand....well in a nutshell they are incredible, but on a logical level....they have something for everyone....blues, hard rock, ballads, happy, melodic songs, awesome riffs, drum solos, deep lyrics, simple lyrics...... No two of their songs sound alike. You never get bored.

Wow, both. I remember staying up all night listening to my favorite radio station play Led Zepellin A to Z -- love Carouselambra, and Sandy Denny on The Battle of Evermore.

And Pink Floyd, I wore out 2 copies of Dark Side of the Moon (you know, vinyl) and The Wall rocks also.

Yet another question, dammed if you do, or dammed if you don't.

Zep and Floyd are both in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

They are both great bands, there is no reason to try and compare one to the other. As they were very different in there musical greatness.

Both are great..I love the immigrant song, and of course stairway to heaven..amazing stuff...Another brick in the wall(part 2) is probly my fav floyd song
