Yeah all all-star type games have the participants chosen way too early. Voting started in like Week 7 didn't it? It's silly. In other sports, it is voted on AND PLAYED halfway through the season which is even worse.

I was wondering the same thing...

The only answer I could come up with in my head is that a stud might get rested the last two weeks if team is locked into the playoffs. However, this argument does not hold much water since voting began several weeks ago..

If voting was a 1 day event and it was today, Fred Taylor would be in the pro bowl..

I think the voting should take place after week 15 and before week 16. 5 days of voting after each team has played 14 games.

Sounds reasonable...that is why it won't happen.

They pick the pro bowl players now probably because most people are paying attention at this point with playoff and division races going on. This might be a pointless story and not get as much hype come the end of the season. I think it also helps rating when you can watch football games now and say oh hes a pro bowl player.

I agree...It doesn't make sense to do it before the season is over, since there are still 2 games to play...and since the game is AFTER the Super Bowl...

I understand, I think that millions of people waste there time with sports, waste there money, they complain of not having enough money for there families and they spend hundreds of dollars on some football team that could care less about them... wonder why the world is the way it is..bad parenting..getting drunk every sunday when it wo uld be better for them to be in church and raising there family the right way....sorry im off track, but I see the stupidity of getting to involved with sports...
