Most, if not all, people have a double standard in one form or another...it keeps them from being a social pariah, keeps them having friends, instead of all enemies...keeps the status quo from being lopsided.
There are good double standards, and bad. A devil's advocate is not a bad thing to be...they just try to see both sides, in order to understand...like I'm doing here!

Yep...I was driving in my car yesterday and realized I HAVE a double standard.
My daughter likes this guy that many do not like for various reasons. I wanted her to stop seeing him. She says she loves him.
I llike this guy that many may not like for various reasons. If he and I were to start dating, and someone told me not to because of whatever reasons, I would still date him because I love him.
I have a double standard. And will not attend a 12 Step Program for it either!!!
