It will be a high risk and high payoff situation for the Astros involving Prior. He has the talent but injuries have taken it's toll on Prior and if he can overcome the problems he has had the Astros and their fans will be the benefactor. He could be very good if he is healthy but I wouldn't count on it.

He is scheduled to be out at the start of 2008, also, so anything more than a minor-league contract at the league minimum would be a holiday bonus. Prior is done as a factor and is now a longshot project, who is one more injury away from being completely through.

Mark Prior will be in Cy YOung form next year, until about early May, when he re-injures his shoulder, and has to spend another year on the DL. He's a bust. Teams would be wise no to waste their money on him.

Hey man.. don't listen to BRAVESFAN ....he still thinks the Braves are the same team from the 90's. I think this is a legitimate question to ask. I think the question is.....where is he going to play? Actually, it doesn't matter...Mark Prior could get injured brushing his teeth. My guess is he'll pitch 9 games and go 2-4 with a 5.54 ERA.

I'm not real high on Prior... The guy just hasn't proven that he can stay healthy... I guarantee that he'll get injured again within his first few starts.

he's somewhat like the Mark Mulder commerce with Oakland, an oftentimes injured pitcher who has super stuff while totally healthful, yet beware, the possibilities they traded away might desire to finally end up being like Dan Haren.
