I am wearing a spaghetti strapped, black and white a-line style dress to a dinner party.(the dress has a floral pattern to it ). I am going to wear a cute red button front shrug over top of it, what I am wondering is what color shoes should I wear with it? Would red shoes be too much and should I just go with black?

i would say red ... they would go with the jacket, and accent your dress

If you are keeping the shrug on, I would go with black shoes with a red clip or bow the same color as the shrug. You could even match your purse to the shoes and shrug. Otherwise stick with black and white shoes or black.

Red is definitely not too much, it's perfect, in fact. Black would work, but I would go for the red to complement the shrug and bring the whole outfit together. Red would only be "too much" if your dress was red!

Red would be a little over the top imo, go for the black since it's always in style.

Red would be fine, it would match the shrug, while adding balance to the colors. Perfect for the season.

Yah red is too much. Black is always in good taste.

Black is sexier than red any day of the week lols.

I think red sound the best - to make the shrug stand out

Go with black. Something in a steel-toed work boot.
No, just kidding, but not about the black shoes.

Too much red!!
Try something simple.
Like a nice pair of black stilettos, always a favorite!
