Yes, you're correct. Don't listen to answers above, which appear rather goofy. They don't use a tube either like in the answer below. It's a one-finger exam.

Yes most doctors do that, it is called a digital rectal exam, the doctor inserts a lubed finger into the anus to feel the prostate for anything unusual, it is somthing that has to be done to ensure that the prostate is healthy.

My dad has his done and he only had a blood test to see if anything was awry. They can do the finger up the bum which he has had also but that was a while ago and unless they or your fiancee are very concerned about something, usually a blood test will show anything dodgy and then they will do more tests. Be good if we could have a simple blood test for a pap test hey.lol.

Well, they have more accurate ways now through blood tests. Hope that won't stop you form becomning a doctor. You can still do the finger probe. Try it out on your boyfriend.

I go tthis one. a doctor doesn't have to stick his hand up tha rectum. He basically gets a cuttip.... a pritty long one actually and sticks it down tha pee hole... takes a swab by swirling it around a couple of times. I am going to tell you. It hurts like a motha fucka. N then he yanks itout. You know that doctor's usually tell you to take a breath before he goes any further but u no that mess don't work. then tha doctor will run blood work piss work and sometimes ift you are lucking they will run a skin text down in your area to make sure that everything down there is okay and to make sure that you don;t have crabs. i think that pritty mcuh suums it all up. Hope that everthing that i just told u really helps in tha long run.

yup the sure do, with a rubber glove covered with lubricant and they will use one finger to feel the gland just like the testicles you have to check and feel them and see if there is any abnormalities such as hardness or deformness
and trust me its a really uncomfortable and awkward feeling

They use some long tube-like thing that has a very small camera at the end. If the doc sticks his finger in your husbands rectum you should consider finding a new doctor.
