Darn! I was answering a question on Y/A and I just saw a mouse run across the room... oops, just back again! Now it just ran into the closet. Great, it's 2:30 am and I got to hunt a mouse. Any ideas how to get this thing or should I just feed it and make peace?

Thanks everybody. I put a big towel to block the bottom of the door. I just can't sleep right now, not because of the mouse, though. I'll deal with it later. I don't mind so much the mouse, but this particular closet is full of skeletons. ;-)

Mice LOVE chocolate, you could use that with a humane trap and then release the mouse somewhere far away from your house in a little woodland area or something.

goto bed. mouse/rat poison pellets mixed w/peanut butter in a little glob will take of all that tomorrow. if there's the one, there's more, or they're coming.

edit: for those 'be humane' folks ... if you take it somewhere else and let it go you're a) either leaving it somewhere it will starve or b) giving someone else a mouse problem. c) if you want to try to tame a feral mouse, more power to you. do it up.

they make great pets :)
if you have patience, put spoon of peanut butter (they like it better than cheese) in a jar or something, and trap it after it goes in. Please don't use a mouse trap, even the stupid "humane" ones.
The mouse won't hurt you, they don't eat people, taste bad ;)

Nah, just go out tomorrow and buy one of those humane traps and let it do the work for you. Then there is no death and no mouse. Pretty win, win if you ask me.

Set a mouse trap and continue doing what you are now.

Peanut butter and sticky pads... that way it won't hurt the mouse. Then just release it somewhere outside (not near your house).
