A leader will never satisfy EVERYONE, but there have been plenty of presidents who have had the support of most of the people when they were doing a good job. examples:
-the day the republican house of represenitives impeached Clinton, 70% of the american people supported him.

- FDR got us out the depression and led us through WW2, he was elected four times!!!

- Regan seemed to be pretty popular for the time he was in office.

-George Bush had the support of the whole country from 9/11 right up till the nit-wit idea of abandoning the war on terrorists and invading the only muslim country in the mid-east where there were no terrorists.

Bottom line, the masses will support a leader as long as he delivers a succssful life style for most of them, when they screw it up, they get no support.

About the time, that defeatists that say stuff like that realize that we will once one comes along that is more concerned about America, than their corporate benefactors that bought the election for them, and doesn't disguise themselves as a phony religious men as all neocons that are trying to change conservative ideology to accept big government, do.

But people would be much happier, if the media quits trying to poalrize our nation, and making fringe groups that worry about non-issues.
No one should ever view any branch of our government hiding anything from the other, as a victory over the other party. because all that does is scew the reality, that it is a victory over all of America, and the ideals that we cherish as Americans.

I think that we realize that no one person will make everyone happy but the problem is when too many people are saying they would be happy with inferior people running our country and talking about voting in a Liberal.

ah, but the people don't need to be satisfied with their government. why bother pleasing the people when it's so much easier to distract them with consumerism and celebrity gossip? most americans can't name five current presidential candidates, but they can tell you who has custody of Britney's kids. as long as the masses are distracted, it doesn't matter what they think politically, because they won't take action.

I think most of us do realize that. No one person can satisfy everyone because all our minds aren't the same.

George Washington comes to mind--dont recall ANYONE opposing the father of our country. I won't name Lincoln because obviously the South did not like him.

Never they always assume some guy will come along and do a better job than even God.
Heres a follow up question. "When were the people ever actually happy with a president?"
