Tampons all the way! TSS is very rare, I have been using them for over 30 years and never knew one person who got TSS. The big epidemic of TSS was caused by a certain brand of tampon that used a different fiber and was of a higher absorbency than is made now. Since they were taken off the market, TSS has become a rare disease. I had to wear pads after my baby was born, (you aren't allowed to wear tampons after childbirth), and it was awful, I felt like I was wearing a diaper.

For me, tampons, definitely! I used to wear pads because of the whole TSS thing, but after researching it, not only is it rare- but tampons are NOT the only way to get TSS, did you know even men can get TSS?
I was spooked the first time I used a tampon, but now I can't imagine going back to pads- they feel like a diaper and I hated wondering if anyone could see a pad-outline on my pants. (paranoid, I know. lol)

I always use tampons because it doesn't dampen the fun in my life just because I'm in that particular week. I can still go swimming, do sports, anything active, without worrying my pad's going to move and I'm going to be stained and worse yet- embarassed as all hell. So yeah, I definitely think tampons are better. :)

It's all a matter of preference. For me, I prefer tampons. I don't like how pads feel like I'm wearing a diaper and how I always feel like everyone else can tell I'm wearing one. I started using tampons when I was 17 and haven't gone back. Early one, I'd go back and forth between the two, but now, I haven't even bought pads in 4 years.

I like pads way better because it can be quite difficult to get the tampon in the right spot to where I can't feel anything. It's a lot of work for me, lol. I'll only wear them for certain occasions.

it all depends on what you do or wear.

tapons are good if you...
are playing sports
are swimming (duh)
wear a thong
are doing anything where you move a lot

pads are good for when...
you're sleeping
not really doing anything physical
you wear bikini like underwear

but most of all it comes down to personal prefance. some people love using tampons and others find them scary and uncomfortable. so try out both and see which one you prefer.

when using tapons you have to know that you can get TSS or something like that. there's some info in every box of tampons that you buy about it. so read it before you use them.

Personally I prefer tampons, as I do not enjoy wearing pads. They make me feel self conscious. I have heard that it is healthier for you to wear pads, especially if your having your period the first time.

Tampons definitely. You can do ANYTHING (except sex) when you are wearing one.

I use Tampax Pearl Lites, as my period is usually light and doesn't last long (on the pill Kariva).
