I hope they don't. If they do they will have to give up too much talent. I know Santana is great but the jury's out on Hughes and Kennedy. They would have to give them both up for Johan.

I dont think anyone will acquire Johan until the middle of the season near trade deadline because the Twins have mix feelings on weither to Trade him or keep him! hopefully he ends up with the Red Sox but who knows the Yankees are throwing in some nice pieces!

Why, trying to acquire Santana now is like saying "If Arod Opts out, we won't negotiate with him" and then going ahead and doing it anyway.

All the spin masters have to do is say "well, Santana really wants to be a Yankee, so we made an exception",
Because the Yankees say they are out, doesn't mean they will keep that.

But, if I were the twins, believe me, Santana would not come cheap. Chamberlain, (Hughes or Kennedy) and Cabrera. I don't owe it to them to do anything.

The whole Santana scenario has gotten real quiet. Right now it doesn't seem like anybody will get him until after the first of the year, and I still think it will come down to either the Red Sox or Yankees that get him.

I read on MLB.com that the Twins contacted the Yankees to reopen negations for Santana.....Will the Yankees get him I wouldn't put it past Hank Hal and George to pull off some type of deal either now or by the trading deadline....

This is the deal that reinvents itself and it appears it is now Hank Steinbrenner v. Hal Steinbrenner in the bidding war. The Yanks will overpay through young talent, since the Twins aren't looking for salaries of established major leaguers as they dismantle the club over the next two years.

no, cause they have continued to refuse to offer what the twins demand in return

No...they just tossed a crap load of money at a few players...it not like their pocketbook is endless....and they most likely cannot pay for another high rolling pitcher.

No, I'm going to try and recruit him to play in the NFL so he can be my starting quotoback.
