Just like you, I was not on the scene, and do not know what the emergency personnel found and were managing when they were at the scene.

It is always easy to point a finger, and make comments about some event you see on the news. Usually those people who have worked in multiple trauma situations understand, that you are trying to save everyone. It is very possible, in a moment of stress caused by managing three injured people on the side of a road, that you might not adequately assess a pulse.

Ideally, a second check might have managed to get the patient to the hospital sooner, and we know that the first minutes are crucial to survival, but it is impossible to say whether this delay actually made a difference.

Those decisions should be left to the medical examiners, and the Fire Department Investigation.
