though there is only a difference of three months in the occurence of the two,how does the charge patterns in the sky change so drastically causing them to show a wide variation of their non-occurence during the north west monsoon while they are very much present during the south east.

Since I am not precisely sure where you live in India or SE Asia although your description makes it sound more like you are in SE Asia, I may not be giving you a correct answer. But If it is true you live in SE Asia then north west monsoons would not have the orographic lift as they do during the south east monsoons for your location. It is this lift which triggers the atmospheric instability and produces cumulo-nimbus with thunder and lightning.

The Time of lightning and Thunder by clouds.
Lightning can happen by many reasons and means but this article mainly focusing on the lightning that happens by heavy clouds and when it happens? or why it does not happen in some monsoon season? The lightning by clouds will happen only when the heavy clouds become motionless. The moving cloud will not discharge the electricity or lightning but a motionless thick cloud that covers a wide area has the tendency of discharging electricity by lightning. The reason why there is no/less lightning during the beginning of monsoon in India is during the beginning of monsoon months the clouds moves constantly but after three months or the later monsoon cloud has the nature to stay in one place and rain. Therefore, later monsoon has much lightning. Some time you will see lightning even when some clouds are moving but remember it is not that cloud discharge the electricity rather there will be some heavy clouds that stay still. Thank you.

If you are referring to Indian monsoon, then the names of the monsoons are south-west monsoon and north-east monsoon, not as you have mentioned.
Usually thunderstorms are more frequent in summer than in winter in the tropical countries. As south-west monsoon starts in summer season(June to September) and covers the entire India(except the southern state of Tamilnadu),thunder activity is more.
The North-east monsoon blows in the beginning of winter season(October to December) and covers only the southern state of Tamilnadu. As it is a winter season, thunder activity is comaparatively less over Tamilnadu and it may be mentioned that only in this season, most of the cyclonic storms form over Bay of Bengal and cross the east coast of India or Bangladesh as in the case of the recent cyclone which crossed the Bangladesh.
