I need to replace the wire coming into my breaker panel inside the house, that goes to my detached garage. I have troubleshooted a blowing breaker problem and found even after unhooking the the main wire running into the subpanel in the garage I still have a breaker blowing. I replaced the breaker, checked all outlets. Double checked outside for possible external outlets, unhooked and capped off wires. Checked all outlets in the house to be sure non were connected to the garage circuit. So in short I need to know how to run a new wire through the same path as the old wiring.

Oh I forgot about the junction box!!! I will check that out. Yes it is underground then travels up the wall and comes down through the ceiling and enters the subpanel.

I have a question for this. Would the line be under ground? You said detached garage. If you are blowing the breaker and you are not hooked up into the garage panel any longer then it is a short some place that is for sure.
If you are under ground on this you will need to retrench and resupply the garage. Also check for a junction box prior to the garage panel. At the house. Best of luck. Next step may be to call a lic. electrician

sometimes you can get a fish line as its called to fit through the conduit, but it depends on how they have it runned to the garage as to whether you can do that if not you'll have to dig it up or just run a completely new line and conduit
