Okay first of all Bone crusher- not everyone does the Internet at home. Every library has Internet access that I know of. So don't be so quick to judge.
Second of all go to the Salvation Army and local churches. I am sure there are organizations set up to help families in need at this time. I know in Washington we have something called 3-1-1 that you can call and they can help people get set up with help. Look into your community and see if they have something like that. Also local food banks can help with food, and I know the prospect doesn't sound exciting, but there are plenty of Labor Works/ Labor Ready places that pay daily.
I wish you and your family the best.

Do not be embarrassed because times are really hard for people these days, and you are definitely not alone! Can you reach out to family or friends for a loan? I would see about it.. Or, do you qualify for energy assistance? I wouldn't want you to put yourself into debt on a credit card, so that isn't the answer---I am so sorry you're going through this right now! If I were close by, I'd throw you some cash to get you through the holidays. When I was a single mother I dealt with this sort of thing and it was heart breaking.

Wow, you have a lot going on. I know its difficult, especially during the holidays when your kids are expecting gifts. The first thing that came to my mind was to pray. Try praying, and maybe your girlfriend/wife can try to work a little overtime to bring in some extra money. Have you thought about asking a family member for a loan?

There has to be a local business that is helping out families with Christmas. I would look into it. I know that the radio stations here do things like that if you call into them or email them and tell them your situation. I'm sure there are a lot of different places that would be willing to help you out. Good luck. :)

Go get any job you can while you search for a more compatible other job. At least you will have some money coming in. I know some department stores pay weekly (on Friday). Do you live near a mall or anything? Hey- its not fantastic, but they are always hiring and its at least $10 an hour.

Heat is more important than gifts. Salvation Army, Red Cross and Heap all will help with the heat and probably gifts also.

sometimes local churches will help with the heat....it might be to late to get help w/ Christmas presents but churches and Salvation Army can help-SA does the Angel Tree every year. You obviously don't have family that could help you??? If you are embarassed to ask for help you are just gonna have to bite the bullet and suck in your pride...Good Luck to you.

If it's true... that's sad. You can sometimes get into community programs where they will help you get gifts and stuff.
